Trip to Nova Scotia and  Newfoundland Day 4.  Had the opportunity to sleep in late but woke up after 5 hrs. Got up for a bit then was able to sleep another hr. It was 42 and very foggy so no time lost. Started loading up the bike around 0830. Done by 9 or so. Fog starting to lift.  Went to start the bike. Yeah, it didn’t start. Almost, but the cold had shown the battery was weak…uh, oh. This was exactly what happened to Scott the day before. I  did get it started… eventually but Mike had called an O’Reilly’s 1.3 miles away and they had a new AGM battery for $82 and Ididn’tknow what temps we wouldsee or have a batteryavailableand be so close. I got the battery out… not real easy as my crash bars have been…  ummm, pushed in a bit from use on sandy or rough terrain.  So that made it bit more difficult.  35 minutes later Darryl took the old battery and my credit card to get a new battery.  He got back and in a bit all was well and off we went.                                    My turn to lead.  We had a short day planned today. Weather was now sunny but cool. Perfect! We wandered over  towards New Hampshire at 45 and 50 mph. I saw a route that said it would take 10 minutes longer and decided to take it. Turned out to be a remote gravel road . We finally came up to the White Mountains and Lincoln, NH.  Stopped at the visitor center and asked where to eat. They sent us to the Black Burger. The burger was cooked just right and it was almost to big to eat with what they all had on it. Fries were good too. I was full but then I saw they had bread pudding.  Burger was great so I had to try the pudding! Darryl the “I’m not a salad guy” had another salad… 4 days in a row! Scott had the same. Mike had chili and wings. Afterwards we decided to back track 3 miles and then go south on 118 for 12 miles to Warren,  NH. A small village over a 12 mile winding road to see, of all things, a real rocket.  It is a Redstone Rocket which was the rocket that sent Ham the chimpanzee into space and later Alan Shepard  who was the first man to orbit the earth. The first ballistic missile.  What was it doing in this small town in NH. When I can upload things tomorrow night it will be explained as I took pics of the placards explaining the reason.  After that we rode the road back to Lincoln and then over the Kancamagus scenic Hwy to Conway. Did some laundry and then just chilled as nobody was hungry after eating at 2 pm. Early start tomorrow and supposedly rain tomorrow as we head to Bar Harbor. I want some clam chowder!

Tools out and then the battery came out too. Waiting for Darryl
