So begins a 6 day adventure…

CPAAT TRIP

A friend and I drove 15 hrs to Eastern Pennsylvania to one of my old Navy buddies. Got here around 9 pm EDT. Took my Yamaha Super Tenere off of my Aluma Trailer. Love that light weight trailer! Doing 83 mph most of the day and my VW Touareg averaged 22.5 mpg pulling the bike and trailer. Yay! Unpacked the car and packed stuff on the bikes. We worked on connecting our helmet communications and now we’re ready to go tomorrow morning.

We’ll be traveling to northeast Pennsylvania to start going west on the CPAAT or Cross PA Adventure Tour. Gravel and dirt all the way. It will be interesting as it has been raining all the way from Illinois to PA. No worries about dust this trip! Jared will be riding my Tenere. I will be riding Mike’s African Twin… which is the bike I was planning on buying before I bought the Super Tenere. Mike will be riding his KTM 990. All this will be starting when my alarm goes off in 5 hrs.
Looks like a 55% chance of rain for the first 2 hrs and 48°F. Yuck! But it will supposedly be dry after that and even sunny by noon with a high of 57. Unfortunately his AT doesn’t have heated grips. I am sure Jared will enjoy the heated grips that I installed on the ST! I am very thankful for heated gear and modern base layer clothing to keep me warm in weatherlike this though.
