Woke up after 9 hrs of sleep. Wow! Got ready to go. We chatted over breakfast. I had 3 eggs and sausage. It was raining out so we weren’t in a hurry to get going so after breakfast we went to our rooms. We’re the only guests this time of the year. That explains the conversation and tone of the lady when Mike called to see if they had rooms available and to make a reservation. Yeah, we have rooms. No, don’t worry about a reservation. All said in a tone of “Of course we have rooms… Duh.” It was the bartender who answered. Was done in a polite way but you could hear the why are you asking such a foolish question in October!
Good breakfast and now the minute by minute forecast says the rain will stop in 30 minutes so we are waiting. The rest of the day is supposed to be just cloudy… if it doesn’t stop… we will just go.
Rain stopped but started up 2 minutes later. So we went. We went up and down and all around. Heavy mist to light rain most of the day and it even got to 54°. We all were warm. The gravel roads don’t have a lot of gravel on them. Seems like gray clay or something when wet. Made for an interesting day. We are seeing rural Pennsylvania and it is quite pretty. All the bikes are now quite dirty running on wet gravel roads all day. Tomorrow we should be getting into some nice state parks and maybe the Allegheny Mountains. The MotoZ tires are fantastic in this wet muck. We were averaging 35 mph. We all enjoyed the day even though the sun didn’t shine and we were dry at the end of the day. Supposedly the rain will not be here tomorrow.
Staying in Towanda, PA tonight and we got in around 3:30 pm. Watching MNF. Hoping to get a good night’s sleep again too.
